BathBact

Sustainable microbial solution replacing chemicals in portable toilets.

BathBact replaces chemical additives in portable toilets with a microbial solution that biologically degrades waste, cuts CO₂ emissions, and enables direct sewage disposal—offering a scalable and compliant alternative.

The Problem

Waste and CO₂ emissions from chemical toilet treatment and transport

>200,000 t/YEAR

of chemical toilet waste are generated in Italy alone

Italy counts over 4,000 portable toilet operators managing 1.2 million units. Wastewater from chemical toilets must be transported ~30 km on average to treatment plants, costing €40/ton and recovering 0% of the chemicals used.

Over 200,000 tons/year of waste generate 5,000+ tons of CO₂. The current model is expensive, polluting, and non-circular.

THE SOLUTION

Bio-based microbial cocktail for on-site waste degradation

BathBact replaces chemical additives with a patented microbial cocktail that biologically degrades waste on-site, enabling direct sewage discharge.

The cost of treatment drops to €3/ton. No transport is required, and 90% of microbes can be reused. The result is a 35% cost saving, a scalable and compliant solution, and a major reduction in emissions and waste.

The Impact

Less transport, lower emissions, and reusable microbial treatment

FROM €40/t TO €3/t

drop in wastewater treatment costs

BathBact enables direct sewage disposal and eliminates the need for transporting waste to distant treatment plants.

This reduces transport-related CO₂ emissions, cuts energy use, and avoids the pollution caused by chemical additives. Its bio-based solution allows 90% microbial reuse, shrinks the carbon footprint of each treated ton, and fosters circular waste practices.

BathBact provides microbial recharges and tanks for:

Portable toilet rental companies
Waste management operators
Event service providers

The benefits of BathBact’s technology

BathBact reduces operating costs by 35%, dropping treatment costs from €40 to €3 per ton. It eliminates ~30 km of transport per disposal, saving time and fuel.

Customers can discharge directly into public sewage using on-site tanks, reduce CO₂ emissions by over 70%, and reuse 90% of the microbes—boosting efficiency and sustainability.
