Fermentation is a major bottleneck in industrial production. Longer fermentation cycles mean fewer batches per year, lower tank utilization and additional energy consumption for cooling and temperature control.
Accelerating fermentation with plug-and-play ultrasound
EFESTO uses modular ultrasound stimulation through piezoelectric transducers to improve bioreactor productivity. The system is retrofittable to existing tanks, requires no process redesign, can be installed in less than one working day and has negligible energy demand of approximately 400 W.
